Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Fort Lauderdale Team Behind Ashby Chimney Fort Lauderdale
When you book a chimney sweep or inspection in Fort Lauderdale, the person who shows up at your door matters. Our crew has worked the Broward County coastline long enough to know what salt air does to a flue, what sudden summer downpours do to a chimney cap, and why a fireplace that hasn’t been used since January still needs a look before the holidays. Every technician who carries the Ashby name in Fort Lauderdale is background-checked, uniformed, and trained to one standard: say the price before work starts, show the customer what we see, and leave the house cleaner than we found it. That’s the Kingswell Way, and it’s how we’ve operated since 2002.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Marcus D. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been sweeping chimneys in South Florida for 14 years, the last seven of them with Ashby. He holds a CSIA certification and specializes in flue inspections using high-resolution camera equipment, which means he can show you exactly what’s happening inside the clay or steel tube that vents combustion gases out of your home. Marcus is the guy we send when a fireplace has been neglected for a few years and the homeowner wants honest answers, not a sales pitch. When he’s not on a roof in Fort Lauderdale, he’s restoring a 1972 Chevelle in his garage in Dania Beach, which he will happily talk about if you ask.
Dana R. – Senior Installer
Dana leads our repair and install work across Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding neighborhoods, from Victoria Park to Lauderdale Harbours. She’s certified in DuraFlex and HeatShield installation and has completed hundreds of flue liner replacements and fireplace repairs, always using materials sourced from trusted chimney-trade brands like Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield. Dana is the person who walks you through the written guarantee on every repair, line by line, so there’s no confusion about what’s covered and for how long. Outside of work, she’s an avid kayaker and knows the Fort Lauderdale canal system better than most maps do.
Priya N. – Service Coordinator
Priya is the voice you’ll hear when you call Ashby Chimney Fort Lauderdale at (754) 354-1451, whether it’s Tuesday at noon or Sunday at midnight. She’s been dispatching chimney and fireplace crews in Broward County for nine years and keeps a mental map of every neighborhood we serve, from Imperial Point to Rio Vista to Coral Ridge. Priya schedules every job with realistic arrival windows, confirms the technician’s name before the visit, and makes sure you receive your written price before any work begins. She’s also the one who takes the “how do I even know I need a sweep?” calls and answers them straight, no scare tactics. When she’s off the clock, she’s chasing her two kids around Snyder Park.
Tomas V. – Apprentice Technician
Tomas joined the Ashby team two years ago after spending several seasons doing roofing and masonry work across Fort Lauderdale, which gave him a head start on understanding chimneys from the outside in. He’s currently completing his chimney sweep certification under Marcus’s supervision and handles everything from rooftop inspections to ash removal and basic fireplace maintenance. Tomas is meticulous about leaving a job site cleaner than he found it, a habit he picked up from his grandfather, who was a finish carpenter for 40 years. He’s a Fort Lauderdale native, a lifelong Miami Heat fan, and proof that our crew is built to serve this city for years to come.
One Standard, Every Job
The Kingswell Way isn’t a slogan we hang on a wall. It’s five commitments every Ashby technician in Fort Lauderdale follows on every single job, no exceptions. We say the price before any work starts, and the invoice matches the quote we gave at the door. We show up in the appointment window Priya scheduled. We leave your home cleaner than we found it, from the hearth to the roof flashing. We put every repair guarantee in writing, and we come back at no charge if a covered repair fails inside the guarantee period. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s backed by the Kingswell Guarantee. Nathan Corliss, our owner, has held this team to one rule since he started Ashby in 2002: if it’s not done right, we make it right. No fine print, no add-on fees, no arguments.
