Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
The Ashby Chimney Fort Lauderdale Guarantee
Every chimney sweep, inspection, and fireplace repair we perform in Fort Lauderdale comes with a written price before we touch a single brick, and a written guarantee before we pack up the van. That’s not a marketing line. It’s how we’ve operated since 2002. If a covered repair fails during the guarantee period, we return and correct it at no charge. You don’t chase us. You don’t argue about what was or wasn’t included. The paperwork says exactly what we’ll do, and we do exactly what the paperwork says. Nathan Corliss runs this location, and he stands behind that promise personally, because his name is on every job ticket we leave behind.
Ashby carries ash right in the name. Fitting for the people whose job is to clean it out. But the name only works if the work holds up.
What’s Covered
Here’s what we put in writing on every job, no exceptions and no fine-print runaround:
- Written price before any work starts. The number we quote at the door is the number on the invoice. If the scope changes, you approve it in writing first, so there are no surprises when the card gets swiped.
- Workmanship on every repair. If a repair we made fails during the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s the entire point of the guarantee, and we don’t dilute it with exclusion clauses buried in the back of a contract.
- Parts we install are handled under our guarantee. We use materials from recognized chimney-trade brands, and we don’t blame the manufacturer if a component fails. Our name went on the work, so our name takes the hit and our crew makes it right.
- Cleanup is part of the job. A chimney sweep shouldn’t leave a soot trail through your living room. We lay drop cloths, use HEPA-filtered vacuums, and leave the fireplace area cleaner than we found it. It’s a little thing, but it’s the thing people notice most.
- On-time arrival inside a scheduled window. We show up when we say we’ll show up. Fort Lauderdale traffic is unpredictable on a good day, so we build realistic windows and call if anything shifts beyond that.
- Honest recommendations only. We don’t sell repairs you don’t need. If your flue liner passes inspection and has years left in it, we’ll tell you that. Camera evidence supports every recommendation we make.

Our Satisfaction Promise
Here’s the process if something isn’t right. You call us. A live person answers, day or night, no voicemail loops and no waiting until Monday. You tell us what’s wrong. We schedule a return visit. We fix the issue. If it’s within the guarantee period and the failure is covered, that visit costs you nothing.
“Not satisfied” is a broad category, so let’s be concrete about what it includes. If the sweep left debris in the firebox, we come back and clean it. If a crown repair developed a hairline crack six months in, we come back and address it. If the repair we completed simply didn’t hold up, we want to know about it. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means what it says: if it’s not done right, we make it right. Nathan Corliss has been doing chimney work in South Florida long enough to know that a warranty is only as good as the person who shows up to honor it. That’s why the second visit is free, and why nobody has to twist our arm to schedule one.
The Kingswell Way describes the five values we work by at every job: say the price, show up in the window, leave it cleaner, put the guarantee in writing, come back if it fails. That’s the entire system. No exceptions for rainy days, no fine print about “normal wear and tear” that magically excludes everything. If we said we fixed it, we stand behind it.
Licensed & Insured Backing
A written guarantee is only worth the paper it’s printed on if the company behind it is still around and still accountable. We’re state-licensed and insured, and we have been since the day this Fort Lauderdale location opened in 2002. That matters for two reasons. First, insurance protects your property if something goes wrong on the job site. Second, and more importantly, a company that carries proper insurance is a company that plans to be around long enough to honor its guarantees. Fly-by-night sweeps don’t carry liability coverage because they don’t intend to come back.
Each Ashby location is independently owned and operated under the standards of the Kingswell Guarantee. That means the owner’s name is attached to the business, not a faceless corporate entity. When you call (754) 354-1451, you’re reaching a real crew that works Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods every week: Victoria Park, Rio Vista, Coral Ridge, Wilton Manors, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, and everywhere in between. We know the moisture issues this humidity creates, the salt air’s long term effect on masonry, and the specific concerns of owning a fireplace in a coastal climate. That local knowledge, combined with the written guarantee, is the actual protection a homeowner gets when they hire us.
If you want the full scope of what the guarantee covers for your specific chimney, call (754) 354-1451 and ask. We’ll walk you through it the same way we’d walk you through the camera inspection: straightforward, no jargon, and with the evidence in front of you.
